Karwan has been providing assistance to the underprivileged during the holy month of Ramadan since its inception. Initially, we organized public iftar events at various locations, but we soon realized that only men were able to attend these events. In 2015, we introduced a new initiative called Akhuwat e Ramadan to address this issue. This program focuses on creating and distributing food packages to underprivileged families, ensuring they have enough food for the entire month of Ramadan. Each package is designed to sustain a family of 6 to 7 individuals.
Prior to the start of Ramadan, Karwan identifies families in need and carefully selects beneficiaries for the Akhuwat e Ramzan food packages. The recipients include widowed women, orphans, individuals with disabilities, and families with low income. The packages are distributed to these families a few days before Ramadan begins. This approach eliminates the need for them to travel and carry the packages while fasting, allowing them to focus on observing the holy month without additional burdens.
Through Akhuwat e Ramzan, Karwan aims to ensure that the marginalized and disadvantaged members of society can observe Ramadan with dignity and access to adequate sustenance. By providing food packages tailored to their needs, we strive to make a meaningful difference in their lives during this sacred time.
This growth and expansion would not have been possible without the collective efforts and contributions from our dedicated team, as well as the unwavering support of our valued partners and donors. Through their generosity, we have been able to extend a helping hand to a larger number of underprivileged families, ensuring they have access to sufficient food during the sacred month of Ramadan.
